Our curriculum is rich with yoga philosophy, ayurveda, and anatomy as well as engaging lessons for self-exploration, practice teaching, and self-discovery. This foundation will serve as a powerful base from which to teach and guide your students through a practice that educates, inspires, and heals.

This Ayurvedic Yoga program is a Yoga Alliance-certified program that offers students a powerful base in the technical, traditional, and philosophical aspects of yoga so they can begin teaching with clarity and confidence.

Philosophy + Ayurveda

  • Verbal and other hands-on teaching skills and techniques to reach all levels of students
  • Applying Ayurvedic concepts and principles to leading group Yoga classes
  • Injury prevention, how to observe and teach various bodies within a group class setting (reaching all levels)

AS AN AYURVEDIC YOGA TEACHER
YOU WILL…

Be able to lead group Yoga classes consisting of pranayama, namaskar, asana, and meditation.

Understand the basic concepts of Ayurveda including tri-doshic theory, prakruti/vikruti paradigm, basic lifestyle practices seasonal cycles, digestive principles for personal self-care, and class instruction design.

Be able to incorporate yoga philosophy into the art of living yoga to support a personal yogic lifestyle and also mirror those teachings within a class.

Understand and incorporate into their instruction alignment, anatomy, cues, hands, and modifications for each pranayama, namaskar, and asana within the scope of the course.

  • An openness and willingness to learn. The practice of compassion and tolerance provides a safe space for learning.
  • Consistent practice of Yoga (3x per week) for the past 9 months.

  • Yoga Practices: Advanced study of asana: alignment, anatomy, and benefits. Class formats, sequencing and Namaskar variations. 10 breathing exercises, relaxation, and meditation techniques for group instruction
  • Anatomy + Physiology: Understand joint and muscle movements and safety. Functional understanding of the skeletomuscular system
  • Energetic anatomy of the body via the Chakra and Kosha systems
  • Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics: Yoga history, read and understand basic yoga philosophy books (Yoga Sutras + Bhagavad Gita). Explore the living path of yoga, dharma, and karma
  • Yoga Sanskrit terminology for postures and practices
  • Ayurveda: history, self-practices, and healthy living practices to teaching and practicing yoga
  • The Ethics and Teaching of Yoga, personal ethics, cultivating your voice and confidence as a teacher
